Overview
About Me
My name is Gabe Evenson. I am 23, and am from Washington, USA (the state not the capital). I am currently in my fifth and last year of study in order to finish up a degree in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, International Business, and Spanish, hence the fifth year.
I love being active and trying to spend as much of my day socializing with others in both a productive and relaxed manner whenever possible. I also find my studies very engaging and something I enjoy greatly. I grew up playing sports and played American football in my first year of University. I love where I grew up in Vancouver, WA, and have additionally loved where I have been living and studying for the last 4 years in the city of Seattle. Both areas offer easy access to the sea, mountains, forest, hiking, climbing, lakes, rivers, and any outdoor recreation you could dream of in those environments.
When I am not busy up at school, I am eager to make it home to spend time with my wonderful family who is a blessing in my life and provides the greatest support that I have in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am currently studying abroad in Pamplona, Spain for one term and I am eager to see the rest of Europe. In the process, I hope to meet as many quality a local people as I possibly can. I feel like if I truly want to take in cultures in the way in which I desire, getting a personal experience with someone living in the cities I am living in is the perfect way to do that.
Additionally, I have one far reaching goal in my travels, which is to see every country in the world. My hope is to see the places I visit through the eyes of someone living in each country rather than the eyes of a tourist just stopping in for the most touristic sites. I believe the couch surfing community is a great way for me to achieve that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 18, a group of friends and I through my high school raised money for a local children's hospital near my home town. Between the 30 of us, we raised $85,000 USD over the course of 5 months for the hospital. We were able to make a visit to the hospital to meet some of the families/kids. We held individual fundraiser events through the months and put in over 100 hours of practice in order to prepare for a final thank you/fundraising pageant.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have worked in a bar and am currently working on learning new drinks so I could teach you how to make some fun drinks. I also love to cook and could potentially make you some fun meals that I enjoy from home. I have been learning Spanish for 9 years so I can also help with learning some fun phrases or sentences if I am outside Spain.
I love learning new languages and how to cook local foods. I personally am not religious but am always interested in learning about others' religions and understanding them better.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think the best thing I can share is a story. I love telling stories and love winding ways to try to get to know another person well enough so I can understand the stories that make others who they are. Other than that, I am always happy to share a drink, meal, hike, or in anything you can think of.
