About Me

I am a journalist and a resercher from Brazil. In 2013, I finished my master in Communication and Politics in the Federal University of Bahia and I have worked in communication departments in different organizations since I graduated. I worked with politicians in election campaigns ; publics organs, including the biggest theater in the north of Brazil (Castro Alves Theater); and in an international festival of dance (Festival Vivadança), among other things. I lived one year in Cork, Ireland, in 2014. I love travelling and meeting people. Nowadays, I have been living with my husband and my parents in Salvador.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock, reggae, classical music, but the kind of music that I listen to more is brazilian music. I love Chico Buarque, Gonzaguinha, Beto Guedes, Vinícius de Moraes, Gilberto Gil, Moraes Moreira, Maria Bethanea, Adriana Calcanhoto, Cássia Eller, Marisa Monte, Maria Rita, Zeca Baleiro... and I like "forró" (tipical music from northeast of Brazil) and 80's rock bands like Legião Urbana, Barão Vermelho, Titãs.
************
I don't have a favorite movie or a film which has changed my life. But the kind of movie that I really like is drama. Blockbusters and special effects, in general, don't interest me. I like movies with a good plot and complex characters. I like historical movies and movies based on real facts as well.
************
In recent years, I have read scientific books and articles about politics, democracy, communication, public opinion, popular participation - and other subjects which are essential to my studying and research - written by authors like Hannah Arendt, Habermas, Bobbio, Paulo Freire, Gramsci, among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if it is amazing, but it was a great time in my life. When I was a student, I took part of the student movement in the university and I participated of many discussions, debates and demonstrations. It was a huge learning for me and, since then, I have been interested in politics and social movements.
