Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
I have been traveling through Latin America since last December. I just recently got back to the USA from Peru!
Looking to share stories, adventures and good food and recipes!
I am currently upgrading my spiritual operating system.
ABOUT ME
I have lived on Kauai island from May 2014 until May 2015, and in Latin America until a month ago.
I am an artist, skateboarder, thinker and philosopher, and sometimes will dance a little Argentine tango.
::::: THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FROM WHEN I WAS HOSTING ON HAWAII ISLAND ::::::
I do this for several reasons: a major one is to grow into becoming the best tour guide, and CS host, on the Island. I just landed a job as an Adventure Tour Guide with a local, badass company!
AND, CS is about unconditional, nonrandom acts of kindness by showing hospitality towards a stranger.
I live near some of the most amazing sights you can possibly imagine! Much of it within 2 hours or less!
♡ Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles down a couple miles from me!
♥ 440 foot falls 15 miles north!
♡ Lava flow 2.5 hours south of me (1 hour driving, 1.5 hours hiking) with some of the youngest ground on the planet.
♥Free sailing first Sunday of every month just down the street from me!
♡Amazing locally made sorbets/ice cream just a 10 minute bike ride away!
♥Waipio Valley just one hour away with a 1200 foot waterfall!
I love to host kind, respectful and grateful people! If you consider yourself to be this way, you will be more than welcome!
Be ready for laughter, adventure and a smile on your sleeping face!
"If by eternity is understood not eternal temporal duration, but timelessness, then he lives eternally who lives in the present"
Since I was a little mocoso/kid, I have been intent on knowledge absorption, spiritual upgrading and entertaining people.
I've spent quite a bit of time practicing and perfecting my cooking skills, in order to find the "flow" in the laboratory and playground of the kitchen. Preparing food is my zen and my canvas.
Today, I often eat raw, and throw in a bit of cooked forbidden black rice, purple sweet potato, and local fish, for examples.
I'm from a tri-cultural upbringing, that was very centered on education, manners, cleanliness and my specialty: humor. Oh, and let's not forget the most important...
Delicious, Wholesome Food.
I read a lot of esoteric word salad stuff, science research nerd stuff, and culinary geek related books, news and articles.
I love bicycling and kayaking adventures (big or small) and anything involving human and nature powered movement and motion.
I support local as much as I can, and live a relatively green lifestyle--I've only owned a vehicle 3 out of the last 20 years, using bicycles, my feet, public transportation to commute and get around. Oh and teleportation. It's a zen thing.
I reclaim, upcycle, and repurpose as much as possible.
PHILOSOPHY
It is what it is.
Everything is practice.
Before enlightenment, chop and carry wood. After enlightenment, chop and carry wood.
Taoist Buddhist. Eightfold path. Wu wei.
I treasure relationships over possessions.
I make decisions based on my values of honesty, hope, courage, integrity, justice, love and being of service to others.
I'll eat anything made/grown/uncooked with love.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
::::: THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FROM WHEN I WAS HOSTING ON HAWAII ISLAND ::::::
I am a great host, tour guide, chef, storyteller and humorist with a fun 4x4 truck to take you on fantastic big island style adventures!
Use my sit-inside kayak and put in 30 feet right outside my lanai.
Try some of my Gabito-style mouthwatering homestyle fusion cuisine!
Cruise the island lifestyle while you are here with me!
I've got knowledge galore in many areas for good conversation and chatting it up and for culinary explorations.
I have hosted several amazing couchsurfers via this site and via friends of friends.
I've taken many couchsurfers on road trips to:
• Local locations that are NOT in the tour books or travel guides!
• The current lava flow!
• Akaka Falls
• Kaumana Caves
• Waipio Valley
• Hawi Town and Pololuu Valley in the north tip of the island
• Kua Bay, Kona, White Sands Beach
• Place of Refuge, Kealakekua Bay
• Green Sands Beach at South Point
• Road to the Sea Beach
• Volcano National Park, etc, etc
I assist hitchhikers. I help those in need. I help put smiles on faces.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted many, many happy CSers who left my place even HAPPIER! The proof is in the pudding: read the shining references below!
My first friend on the island I met via couchsurfing. She took me out to get kava in Kona when I was WWOOFing in Kealakekua. That was back in August 2011!
Since then, I've met with fellow couchsurfers for coffee, bicycling, kayaking and driving adventures.
I have helped some low-budget CSers with food, and other purchases (such as prepaid phones to help with safety/communication issues when traveling.)
I have hosted many bonafide, kickass CSers who had an amazing time here.

Algo increíble que he hecho
I was born 9 months exactly after my parents were married. The day after their wedding, they flew to Hawaii: Maui and Hawaii Island for their honeymoon. I have a good sense that I was conceived here on the islands.
Hiked out over a dozen times to the flowing lava entering the ocean in Kalapana, southeast Hawaii, leading a bunch of international travelers.
Jogged at 13,020 feet elevation to the lake atop Mauna Kea.
Get to host and tour around amazing people from all over the world here in my humble home of Hilo in East Hawaii Island.
Biked 80 miles on a treacherous 2 lane road to the Oregon coast in freezing weather in the dark.
Body-kayaked down rapids in mid-Oregon. Never again.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
