About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Improving my self-knowledge, extending my boundaries, and finding my true vocation in life.
ABOUT ME
Being surrounded by friends and having a source of inspiration in my life are essential for me. I have a naturally friendly attitude to people; I try to be available to anybody who has good intentions. I love to socialize, but I also enjoy being on my own. I like to take unexplored ways and try different alternatives. I often use humor as a way out of uneasy situations.
PHILOSOPHY
Different people have different tastes, beliefs, manners and ways of living - all this should be accepted and embraced. Diversity is a treasure. Everybody should be encouraged to explore his/her personal philosophy as long as the core principles of good will, honesty, and respectful communication are maintained.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Whenever I travel abroad alone, I prefer to stay with CS hosts, it's a great way to get acquainted with friendly local people. I also occasionally host couch surfers in my flat, I like to show them around in Budapest. Besides, every now and then I participate in local CS get-togethers and events. If you come to Budapest for a couple of days, I can offer my hospitality and my knowledge of interesting places. I'm looking forward to meeting couch surfers of any age, gender and ethnic background.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had very positive experience with CS. I started couch surfing back in 2012, when my then girlfriend and I did a backpacking tour in the Netherlands, Portugal, and Andalusia. For most of the time we were hosted by CS members, which invariably turned out to be an amazing experience.
Since then, I stayed with CS hosts during some of my travels to France and Israel. Additionally, I've participated in a few CS events (excursions, parties, get-togethers) in my local city, Budapest.
Interests
To begin with, I'm not a party animal (never have been), yet I genuinely enjoy meeting like-minded people, whether from my own country or from a completely different culture. When traveling to a new place, I prefer to actively discover the local culture (sights, museums, architecture) rather than just sit in pubs and restaurants.
Some of my great passions in life are theatre, literature, and foreign languages. I go to the theatre quite often thanks to the rich cultural life in Budapest. I've also been practicing various kinds of amateur acting, including improvisational and playback theatre.
Also, recently I've got entangled in the magical universe of contact improvisation, which has become a new and unexpected passion for me. For those of you who have some experience in contact improv, you know what I'm talking about :)
In addition to contact dancing, I easily get absorbed by watching contemporary dance performances and listening to music (classical, jazz, R'n'B, indie rock). Also, in 2017 I started learning the alto recorder, and by now I've reached a sufficient level to play baroque pieces by Händel, Bach, and Vivaldi.
Since 2014 I've been practicing taiji (or tai chi chuan), which has a very special place in my life. It has influenced me on various levels, from my physical skills and balance to the functioning of my nervous system to my life philosophy to my relationship with people and with the natural world. I also enjoy sports and all sorts of physical activities in general, including running, swimming, cycling, and rollerblading. I love to do excursions in nature, whether on foot, on my bike or in a canoe.
For me, traveling abroad is a challenge and an opportunity to expand my horizon. On such occasions I strive to learn about the local culture and history, and I enjoy interacting with people in a way to share with each other our unique perspectives on life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Novels and short stories by classical 19th and early-to-mid 20th century writers including Jack London, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote, John Steinbeck, John Galsworthy, Franz Kafka, Arthur Schnitzler, Guy de Maupassant, Anton Chekhov, Fyodor Dostoevsky. I enjoy reading novels and listening to audio-books in their original language.
Classical movies by Woody Allen, Lars von Trier, Stanley Kubrick, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch. Monty Python movies and sketches (I could spend my whole life watching them over and over).
Music: all sort, really. Classical music, rhythm and blues, jazz, classical rock, indie rock, ethno are some of my favorites.
But above all: theatre! It is a real privilege for me to enjoy the outstanding theatre life of my home city, Budapest.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once as a teenager I ate 9 scoops of ice cream :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll be happy to converse with you in any foreign language (English, French, German) in which I have some degree of proficiency.
I can show you some techniques of taiji, contact improvisation, and playback theatre.
Also, I can teach you how to do integration by parts, but probably you won't be interested :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you are into baroque music and are not terrified by recorders (some people are), I'll be delighted to perform some short pieces by Bach, Händel, Vivaldi, or some tuneful renaissance music. I always travel with my faithful alto recorder (blockflöte) and a handful of music sheets when backpacking or cycling.
Also, I'm eager to cook some Hungarian dish and share it with my hosts. 'Lecsó' (similar to French 'ratatouille' and Middle-Eastern 'shakshouka') is one of my favorites, which is very easy to prepare.
