ABOUT ME

I'm splitting my time between New Orleans and Austin these days, enjoying both lovely cities. I write plays, I cook elaborate meals, I teach.
I love to cook, travel, garden, take bike rides, drink, dance, eat, listen, and sit outside on nice nights. I have a penchant for taking on too many projects. I'm a sucker for beets and flan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Apart from hosting people through couch surfing, I've hosted good number of touring bands that played at my former theatre, The Alamo Underground. This website is brilliant in its ability to connect.

Interests

Writing, producing, directing, drinking bubble tea. The parrots who live in the tree across from my work. Historical linguistics. Language, how people use it, how usage changes, how this all affects meaning- this is amazing to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

film- Don! Really, really into Bollywood. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure- I could watch it every day and laugh just as hard every time.

music- asha bohsle, james booker, delta blues, bjork, flaming lips, belle and sebastian, manu chao, of montreal, morgan orion resiman, gillian welch, the ship, the shins, ween, abba, blondie, t-rex, etc, peggy lee, robin archer, dschingis khan, latin, caribbean,etc. etc.

books- Carl Sandburg is the poet laureate of my prairie soul. The Thirteen Clocks by Thurber. The God of Small Things. I read a lot of plays, though not nearly as much as I should. Adam Rapp, Christopher Durang, Tony Kushner, Y. York, Will Eno, Marin Mcdonough, some Sam Sheppard. I've just released a book of plays- "More Pepper", to be available on Amazon shortly. Horray.
