About Me

Ciao! I am a traveling student of the arts seeking new experiences and beauty in all the corners of the world! I am an artist: painter and sculpture. I use oil paint primarily and create landscape scenes inspired by the French Impressionist style; but also I paint portraits and other things. With sculpture I'm fairly new but my passion lies in the figure. And I draw all the time too! I am a junior (third year) at the Herron School of Art & Design in Indianapolis, Indiana in the USA. I have two majors: Painting and Sculpture, and I have my minor in Art History. Italy is the best place for me because of its long and rich history in art and culture, I love it. I play the guitar and the mandolin, but I don't have any instruments with me as I travel abroad (except for a small tin whistle), but I would love to play music with anyone I stay with and learn anything I can! I've been living in Pisa for two months now studying Italian and one day I hope to be fluent! I love immersing myself in other cultures and learning from other peoples unique experiences. I am lover of music, art, food, wine, poetry, literature, architecture, and I'm open to learn anything the world has for me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel around Europe, meet new people, and learn things that I couldn't on my own! And, as a student, I need to do it on a budget! This gives me the chance to do all those things, and most importantly make connections that will hopefully last a lifetime!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite genre of music has to be Irish Folk, its so much fun to listen to, play, and dance around to! Some of my favorite artists in that genre are Forkroot and Great Big Sea. I also love alternative rock, like alt-j and Arcade Fire. And very chill/mellow stuff like Tall Heights and Vancouver Sleep Clinic!
My favorite book is the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, and that's also my favorite movie trilogy. C.S. Lewis is my second favorite author, I will continue to read the Chronicles on Narnia and the Space Trilogy till I die.
I love Marvel superhero movies! I will gladly freak out about any of those with you, especially the chaos that just went down in Avengers: Infinity War!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have my scuba diving license, and a couple years ago I swam down 100 ft under water! That was a crazy experience. But it was in the Caribbean so the water was incredibly warm and clear even at that depth!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to talk about art, music, and language with you! I know a good amount about art history, and different methods of making art! I'm also trying to learn Italian right now and would love to talk in Italian to keep improving. I also love to cook and would love to share some of my recipes I like to make in America as well as hear what you can teach me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can't draw pictures for you! (portraits, landscapes, or whatever you want). If we wanted to cook together I could obviously help buy ingredients and good wine! I can offer good company and conversation (I hope!) and play music with/for you. And if you ever need a place to stay in midwest America I would love to open my doors!
