About Me

Hello, I'm Gabriel, a college student and programmer born and raised in the beautiful state of Santa Catarina in Brazil! I'm someone that loves experiencing and learning new things, so getting the chance to do this while traveling by couchsurfing would be awesome!

I'm fluent in Portuguese, advanced in English, and basic in Japanese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I was a kid I've always dreamed of visiting Japan, and later this year this will finally happen, as I will be traveling together with my best friend to Japan from December 2022 to February 2023.

We want to get to know the culture of Japan, the beautiful places and experiences it has to offer, while also making good friends along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all sorts of musics, but my favorite genre is rock and metal. Recently I've been hooked to jazz fusion with Masayoshi Takanaka's musics.

I don't have a favorite movies, but I like lots of them! Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Harry Potter, Hellraiser, etc. are some of them.

My favorite book is Mistborn: the well of ascension by Brandon Sanderson, an epic fantasy that is really good! As for mangas, my favorite ones are One Piece, Vinland-saga and Berserk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my first year of college in the middle of the pandemics in 2020, there was an volunteer project with the goal of raising old computers from people that didn't need them anymore to fix them and give them to kids that couldn't afford computers to watch the online classes of their schools. I was responsible for picking an operating system that would run in most of the computers and be easy for kids to use, and also for writing a guide on how to install it in the raised computers. It's not a big thing, but I'm happy I could be part of it,.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn more about your local culture! About the city you live, the people that live there, and how you live you life. History is something that I'm particularly interested in, so learning more about local history would be awesome.

I can teach you about computers and programming, as well as customs, history and musics from my country.

Let's share happy moments together, I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience!
