Most books by Dan Brown and Orson Scott Card (I know, he's a jerk - but his writing's great). So Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Ender's Game (and entire series), Homecoming series, etc.

My music taste varies a lot over time; I would say I generally trend more towards [boring] modern, popular styles over indie. I'm pretty open to whatever though; within a couple of days, I've generally fallen in love with whatever music is playing around me.
