About Me

Hi, I'm Gabriel :)
First off I'd like to say that I'm very excited for 2019, since I will be turning 30 years old! I feel like just yesterday I was turning 19, and now it's been 10 years. Time truly flies. In order to share a little bit about me, I'd like to begin with my family. I'm very family-oriented, I am constantly in touch with my parents and my 2 siblings. I'm the youngest one in the family, and the only one not married with children. My brother has a beautiful baby girl, and my sister has a gorgeous baby boy. They were both born on 2017 and have both become the center of attention not only for me, but for my whole family. Sadly my sister, her husband and my nephew live in Charleston, SC. and I don't get to see them often other than via FaceTime. I do visit my brother and his family as often as possible. In my pictures you can see a picture of most of my family.

I'm a very friendly person, I like to talk to people and socialize, though sometimes I am a little bit shy if I am with a large group of people I don't know. Either way I enjoy participating in a good conversation. I keep in touch with friends from my both careers in University, from all my prior jobs and I'm very close with my cousins as well. Due to this, I always have a lot of social events and enjoy catching up with friends I haven't seen in a while. Also, ever since I was 15 I began chatting with several people from England and we became great friends, hopefully this year I will finally meet some of them!

I love travelling, and I try to do it as often as I can though lately I haven't much, I've had a lot of work, and my last trip was for the birth of my nephew. I'm VERY excited since this year I'm finally going overseas!!! I can't wait to begin exploring the other side of the world! Guatemala is beautiful, and I'm lucky to have been able to travel to a lot of different places here, but the trip I will do this year is out of this world, we truly can't wait. Feel free to ask where I'm going :)

One of my goals in the future (2-3 years from now) is to travel to an organization for either whales or elephants and support in any way possible. I know there are many programs that exist in which you can participate and I am truly interested in doing it as soon as I can. And not only once, as many times as possible. I love all animals and wish to be more involved with working to keep them safe. Make sure to mention this if you will message me please!

Well that's mostly about me, I hope you enjoyed it and feel free to ask if you would like to know anything else! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had heard a lot about Couchsurfing from my best friend, Alex. He has had the opportunity to travel a lot and has shared how through Couchsurfing he has been able to share with people from many different places, which has lead him to have a much greater experience both from the local people, as well as from the places he has travelled to. I took his advice and did some research about Couchsurfing, and decided to open my account.

I think Couchsurfing is a great platform to get to feel the real-life experience of living in a specific country, and not just the usual hotel isolation. Growing up, we had visitors from time to time, and it was nice to recommend or take them to places we knew they would like - I would love to be a part of this experience.

This year I am travelling to France (Paris and Strasbourg), to London and to several places in Switzerland. I'm EXTREMELY excited to get to know all this wonderful places and people. It is truly amazing to get to know a completely different culture. Ever since we bought the tickets I have had several dreams about this trip. I hope it's the first of many big trips.
