CURRENT MISSION
To learn.
ABOUT ME
I believe that if someone has a passion, any passion, it is always worth hearing about. I also believe in getting to know lifestyles and opinions different than my own.
I was born and raised in Rio, studied film in New York and Prague, and am now in a worldwide search for stories and points of view.
I was also raised to think that there is never a good reason to be an asshole.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't let yourself stagnate and don't be a dick.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm very willing to do house chores or help in any way I can with almost anything you need. People also say I'm a good conversationalist, and I'm always willing to have a nice chat over a cold beer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've slept on many friends' couches, and never had any complaints. Even when I have a traditionally more comfortable option in a city, I usually prefer to sleep on someone's couch as it leads to more interesting situations. Once I stayed on several friends' couches in New York, having to jump around because of a friend's travel plans or family coming into town, even though I had an apartment all to myself on another part of town. It definitely made for a much more interesting trip.
Interests
I'm interested in basically anything that is interesting. I know it sounds vague.
More personally, I'm interested in any form of Storytelling, be it film, television, literature, comic books, videogames or music. I'm also interested in geek pop culture, science, philosophy, and, as someone who was raised atheist, I'm very interested in different religious views.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2007, I travelled through Japan as a roadie to my brother-in-law's band. There were many amazing moments in this trip, and even though we went the Fuji Rock festival with artist's passes and saw many amazing concerts with backstage access, the most amazing thing I can remember was travelling through Okinawa with a local. We went to many amazing beaches, saw fishes I had never seen before, ate some delicious exotic food and saw locals performing their traditional off-beat music. For one week, all we did was get to know their culture and the beautiful locations in the island, making it an unforgettable trip.
I spent a semester living in Prague, drinking their delicious beer and enjoying the sights. Even though living in that city got boring after a few months, there was one amazing moment towards the end of it. The film school I was studying at, FAMU, throws a huge party at the end of every semester that takes place in the entirety of their huge, six-story building. This was an opportunity for me to meet actual Czechs, since I only had classes with Americans, and to drink some of what the dean of the school called "The best absinthe in Prague". Of course, lots of dancing was also involved, as they turned the basement of the building into a dance floor and every classroom became impromptu concert houses for the students' bands. An amazing night, and a really inspiring use of the space. Can't believe more schools don't do this.
I also had the opportunity to travel through the Serengeti Park in Tanzania when I was ten years old. You can imagine what seeing all of that did to my ten-year-old mind. Also, a balloon ride made me feel as if I was in a Jules Verne book, a true adventurer exploring the world, a feeling I wish I had every day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a student of Storytelling, and have a lot of acquired knowledge on the subject to share. I also know about a lot of random things, and can talk about them extensively.
I would also really like to hear your life story if you'd be willing to tell it to me.
