Overview
About Me
*** I won't be able to host anyone in July 2024, as my flat is "under construction". ***
I'm a biologist working as a consultant in nature conservation and environment protection. In September 2018, I started my second studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
I'm living just next to the train station in Olten with my Labradoodle "Cooper" and 32 houseplants. Cooper is usually traveling with me and our favourite type of holiday is hiking through nature reserves. In cities I particularly like flea and farmer's markets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When traveling "alone" (with Cooper), I hate spending the evenings in hotel bars / rooms. It's much more fun to meet new people, eat together, learn more about their lives and their perspectives on different topics.
Interests
"To understand what holds the core of the world together." Quotations from Goethe's Faust. Meaning, that I'd like to understand more about how things are interlinked; what forces act on our individual and the world's destiny.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently, my favourite song is "Someone else" by Flora Cash. I like listening to music during train or car rides (to drown out the noise of the vehicle). But in general, I prefer silence, the rustling of the leaves in the wind and birdsongs to music.
My favourite book is "Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story" (in German: "Glennkill: ein Schafskrimi"). It's not only because I love sheep but because it's full of subtle humor.
The movie "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" I would call a synthesis of cinematic arts. I love the way they filmed, the pictures and colours they chose and particularly the attention to detail.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was eleven years old I had to write an essay titled: "What I would do, if I could govern the world." I wrote about deforestation, the unsolved problem of nuclear waste, lacking prospects of young people, diplomatic solutions for military conflicts and the responsibility towards impoverished countries.
I was amazed when I found the essay years later and I made it my "manifest".
