About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live my life the way I want to live it :) learn, experience, grow, and EAT wonderful food!!

ABOUT ME

I'm 22 years old and I recently realized that I was playing my life safe. I decided to start doing the things I had not done because I didn't want to worry others or that I talked myself out of and, even though I just started, it feels great! :) I have a B.A. in History and I'm currently going to law school in Oregon with the hope of work on Human Rights issues afterwards.
I was born and grew up in Mexico but have lived in the United States for the past 10 years. I consider myself from both countries so the question "Where are you from?" receives a complicated answer from me!
I love swimming! And reading! And learning about other people, their beliefs, customs, language, etc. however, it does take me a little bit to open up to people and be myself!
Thank you for reading! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I have recently been going through life trying to appreciate everything around me (people, trees, animals, rocks, water) for their existence :) (I know it sounds really weird) :)
My mom taught me to let go of things you cannot control and not stress and I try to live by that (even though is hard sometimes)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host right now :/
I'm working to settling in to my new apartment, so when that's ready (i.e. when I have furniture) I will update!
I would like to meet awesome people :) and also maybe crash on someone's couch/floor/extra bed :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have NO Couchsurfing experience at all! But my friend, and people I have met recently, have told me that their experiences have been awesome! I'm honestly a bit nervous but extremely excited about diving into this!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading classical literature but I also enjoy 'teen' genre books
I'm actually really bad at remembering movie names, actors, singers, and song names!!! :/ but I mostly like comedy films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hopefully this category will grow :)
Travel to Italy with my mother and we did a ton of awesome stuff!
Swam in Petra, Jordan, with some awesome Bedouin people!
Explored the Separation Wall between Israel and the West Bank.
Hiked in the Grand Canyon, US, with a great friend!
Watching my niece grow and develop her personality is probably my favorite thing I have seen and will continue to see!

Teach, Learn, Share

Spanish
Life in Mexico
Life in the US as an immigrant
And I'm not sure it there's anything else!
I would love to learn other languages! Actually, anything you want to teach me, I would be thankful to learn :)
