About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to make people realise that life's not that serious
/ officially, studying Cultural mediation in Paris
ABOUT ME
The most often I'm said to be a spontaneous person with crazy ideas. I don't want to live my life settled down on one place and I always seek for unique experiences. I might seem a lunatic as I laugh all the time.
PHILOSOPHY
I trust in spontaneity and escaping from the sad theatre that most people call "reality". I mean - I don't want to live mechanically, running from one shop to another and staring on telescreens.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
To host or to be hosted is surely an amazing experience, but what I love about couchsurfing is the way it connects open/minded people in today's world where individuals get still more and more isolated. I've met a lot of awesome people both in my hometown and while traveling!
Interests
Art - I love 20th century painting, there's something about the avant-garde spirit that fascinates me. I've been obsessed with art brut lately.
I like going to art galleries, but I try to create myself, too : I make collages, I paint, I take photos (you can have a look here http://cargocollective.com/gabrielaeman if you wonder what kind of things I do ^^)
Reading is something I like to do, too. And drinking wine with interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Godard, Bergman, Woody Allen, from contemporary director's it's definitely Xavier Dolan. As with anything else from the cultural field, I tend to be very picky and I don't necessarilly stick to one director : I appreciate a film more on the basis of the theme, the impression it leaves.
I like a lot of books and I don't feel like having a favourite one. I like Immortality by Kundera, Bald Soprano by Ionesco, Monsieur Teste by Paul Valéry. Basically, I like literature that allow me to think. Haruki Murakami has something deeply immersive for exemple, his novels always make me mind-travel in a sort of altered reality.
Musically speaking, I've grown-up on jazz, which is the only thing which doesn't change for me. I can happen to listen to a post-rock song and put some electro just after, it really depends on my mood...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every time I enter in contact with a different culture or mentality, I feel really enriched. I like to learn things travelling and substituting the theoretical knowledge for real experience. That's why I'd call every single of my journeys a unique moment - especially my short trip to London, which is really multicultural. The biggest shock for me was Seoul, such a difference!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to laugh uncontrollably.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love going to places that most people prefer to avoid, so I can share some adventurous experience with my hosts. And I can share beer or wine, too. And fun and freedom before everything.
Also, I'm definitely NOT the host who'll stick to you, leaving you no time to discover the city on your own. And when hosted, I appreciate being independent too.
