About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sharing: conversations, time, laughs, toughts

ABOUT ME

I am a sociable and easy going person, I'm always interested in meeting new places and people, and getting to know about other cultures! I am a brazilian 20 years old who's now living in Belgium for one year, I participate in an exchange program (almost like Erasmus), I'm here to learn from other people and their experiences! My goals in this moment are to be a more independent and open minded person, being able to widen my view of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe I can summarise it in one phrase of Paulo Freire, a popular educator and one of my favourites brazilian writers: "It would be impossible to know yourself as unfinished and not openinig yourself to the world and to others searching for explanations, to answers to multiple questions. Closing yourself to the world and to others is a transgression to the natural impulse of incompleteness" (free translation).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm doing Erasmus and living in a residence, so I can't host people here. On the other hand, I can take people who visit my city to sightseeing and to take a coffe or something like it. As I'm travelling in Europe, I'm searching to surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's my first time on CouchSurfing, and I'm hoping to meet great people and living nice experiences in the places I'm visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll make a small selection of ones of my favourites:
Movies - "Into the Wild"
Books - "The unbearable lightness of being", "Pedagogy of the Opressed", "The Violent Land" "Sea of Death" and "Seara Vermelha" (all are works from the brazilian writer Jorge Amado).
Music - Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, Vinícius de Morais, Tom Jobim, Nação Zumbi, Ben Harper, Donavon Frankenreiter, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Matisyahu, Pearl Jam, Alexander Ebert, Norah Jones, Muddy Waters, Flogging Molly, Balkan Beat Box, Cassia Eller, Marisa Monte, Beatles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From the places I visited, one of the most amazing was Dolomiti, in Italy. There I felt more connected to the nature than never before in my life, I was fulfilled by the feeling that I was a part of it. From this time a thought reached me, and that was the time I felt it the most deeply: we're all one.
