About Me

I'm a New Zealander on the road who loves new experiences and meaningful interactions wherever I go 😀

Not in Tbilisi. Currently travelling through the Middle East and Eastern Africa 🚴🏽‍♀️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I enjoy it! I’ve had some of the best experiences and made lifelong friends. My favourite thing to do on my travels is live how others live; I love to adapt to their version of ‘normal’ and learn as much as I can. It’s important for me to have a completely open and curious mind, and CS has provided so many incredible opportunities to do this :)

Interests

Listening to an eclectic mix of (and discovering new) music, going to gigs, having jam sessions, etc.. Rowdy evenings at jazz and blues bars! Hiking, being in the mountains, skiing, camping, mountain biking, spending time with loved ones, having interesting/fun/deep conversations, meeting and connecting with people, genuinely immersing myself in different cultures, bringing people together, watching good films, reading good books, being in nature, lazy days at home, checking out the local bar scene, dancing at clubs and raves.. I'm always happy to pick up new interests and learn things along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - classic rock, blues, jazz, indie, folk, 'world', techno, psytrance, electronic/house, acoustic, hip hop, metalcore/post hardcore, progressive metal and rock, country, reggae, dub.. many different genres. I vibe with what I vibe with. I also really love hearing traditional music from the countries I visit!

Movies - comedies (e.g. Mel Brooks, Coen brothers, Christopher Guest), psychological thrillers, horror, drama, indie, science fiction, documentaries, fantasy, romance, Pixar.

Books - I used to read a lot and I’m trying to read a lot again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Robert Plant live in concert and knowing it was the closest I would ever come to seeing Led Zeppelin.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you very (very) basic te reo Māori, perhaps?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Life and travel stories, a listening ear, an open mind, relaxed vibes, cooking a meal, a round of beers, a decent sense of humour, an equally as decent sense of adventure, etc.
