Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always excited about meeting people from around the world, especially those from different cultures! I've traveled quite a bit in Europe as it is a place I feel very drawn to and where I feel a great affinity for the way of life, culture, architecture, and people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to it but have heard great things from friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm passionate about movies, especially artist driven pics (Kieslowski, Fincher, Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Jane Campion, Almodovar, Coen Bros.).

TV: Daily Show, Game of Thrones, Seinfeld. I do not, however, own a tv.

Authors: Milan Kundera, Chekhov, Osho, Don Miguel Ruiz, and I love Leviathan and The Alchemist. I'd like to make more time to read...

Music: Old school jazz, vocal jazz, classics, bossa nova, 80s, alternative, stuff you can really sing or dance to... depends on the mood... The Beatles, Dean Martin, Fred Astaire, Van Morrison, Debussy, Coldplay, Bebel Gilberto, Bruno Mars, Snow Patrol, Ella Fitzgerald, Pink Martini, Nat King Cole, The Commodores, Wings, Bach, Diana Krall, Mozart, Maroon 5, Zero 7... I feel like I have a lot to learn about music, and I'd like to just sit and listen more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in NY for many years, I am fortunate to see beautiful architecture, topography, and art all the time, and to engage in incredible experiences regularly. For me, many of the amazing things I've seen have been in the theatre, which is my life's passion, traveling by train through Europe, hiking the SF Bay mountains, or experiencing moments of synergy and magic in New York or San Francisco.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn more instruments, especially the piano. I can play a little trumpet as I studied it as a kid and my dad has played his whole life.

I'm an expert in theatre and am always looking to share my knowledge in this area. I've taught in the U.S. and Europe. Here is my website if you are interested: www.gabrielgrilli.com
