Right now I’m taking a few weeks for fun travel as I just spent a week playing Aufnahmeprüfungen (music auditions) in Germany.

PHILOSOPHY
Never let reality cloud the arena of your imagination. Try to limit exposure to advertisements, like sunscreen. Focus. Protect your hearing. Listen to the same thing over and over until you know everything about it. Don't believe what anyone says. Define with feelings, not words. Never underestimate the shortcomings of analytical thinking.
And always try to phrase things in the positive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent three weeks in the mountains of Svaneti learning traditional Georgian songs from an old songmaster named Islam Pilpani. He didn't speak a word of English, and shouted the songs out to us, drilled us, and didn't let much slip by. Near the end of the tour, we were able to interview him through a translator. He told us the best thing we can do with what we've learned is to teach Svan music abroad, so the music will live on. An incredible teacher and person. Thank you, Islam.
