Music, Movies, and Books
Music: When I'm by myself, I tend to listen to singer-songwriter, kind of sappy emotional music. Ryan Montbleau, Ray Lamontagne, Andrew Duhon, Amos Lee, etc. But when I'm out for a show, I like something that makes me kick my feet in the dirt. Big fan of bluegrass. Also a lover of the blues, some jazz. Grew up as a young child on the road with the Grateful Dead. Very diverse musical interests, as I said, I work in music, so you kind of have to be open to all types of things and genres.
Books: LOVE Vonnegut and Tom Robbins. Reading interests change all the time but I've always been very keen on the Beat poets. Kerouac, Burroughs, Kesey, Ginsberg, and so on and so on are my boizeeeee. Also, recently just finished reading "Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance," I see why everyone always raves about it now. Feels very applicable to my life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
ONE?! Well that just isn't fair!
I was actually in Charleston, S. Carolina during the church shooting last year. I was doing a work-stay with a friend whom I'd met in Guatemala. She worked in catering and we arranged a fundraiser near the church where we passed out grilled peaches and pancakes, asking for donations for the families of the victims. We raised over $1000 dollars for the Emanuel Hope fund and to help with funeral costs for all of the victims. That's one thing I'm especially proud of.
