About Me
Hello hello! I am Gabry! I am a wandering soul who loves sharing stories and experiences with open-minded and inspirational people all around the world. I'm an easy going person, can be silly or mindful depending on the weather. I am extremely curious, I like escaping from comfort zones and make weird plans out of a plan. I like jokes, laugh a lot and I enjoy little things in life. Love food, cooking of course (you know Italians..) and eating! I'm pescatarian. I am amazed by everything in nature and I am always up for outdoor activities and explorations. I practice Iyengar yoga and I like so many more different things that you will discover in the long conversations we'll have :) Someone said that the best things in life are free, and I can add that some of them are worth to be shared :)
Let's share something in this life path :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet open minded and inspirational people to share experiences, thoughts, ideas and quality little moments on this Earth.
Interests
Travelling, cooking and eating, reading, music, psychology, ecology, art, yoga, bushwalking and all outdoor activities... the list would be too long, basically, I'm interested in everything that can tickle my curiosity!
- cooking
- yoga
- reading
- traveling
- music
- backpacking
- ecology
- psychology
- crafting
- diy projects
- digital nomad
- digital marketing
Music, Movies, and Books
Same as above, the list would be so long! I enjoy a lot of different music genres and I am addicted to discovering new music.
I like art house cinema, independent cinema and short movies. Sometimes randomly around once a year, I get trapped in some tv series for a few nights, but I am not a Netflix addicted.
Isabel Allende's books are magic, they brought me into their own world. Tiziano Terzani's books should be translated into more languages. I have a long list of books I wish to read!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Building amazing and precious friendships all around the world.
- Left my country and change my previous plan to go on the other side of the world with a very low budget.
- Lived for 3 months in a tend, showering with big spiders and cooking with a python watching me, in a Hare Krishna Farm.
- Climbed Mt Warning in Australia while I was overweight and with a chronic back pain. It was my very first hike and it was possible only because I was in a team of amazing people!
- Driving a boat through the Whitsundays Islands, landing on a desert/non-touristic side of Whitehaven Beach.
- Feeling like a mermaid while snorkelling (without any Go-Pro) in the Great Barrier Reef and in the Gili Islands, swimming with giant turtles and playing with funny fishes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Italian, or help you improve your English, or also I can teach you a few secrets to cook real Italian food ;).
I can teach you some basic yoga asanas (poses) and show how you can benefit from practising them.
I can teach you how to knit (it is a relaxing/calming/meditative activity, you can do amazing stuff with it and no, it's not just a granmas' stuff) and how to practice some basic yoga asanas.
I can talk to you for hours about Australia and New Zealand until you get bored.
I'd like to learn Portuguese and Spanish, to improve my English further, to cook new dishes (especially Asian dishes) and I'd like to learn the most improbable stuff you can teach me.
I am interested in working as a digital nomad, so I'd love to learn more about all sort of careers and activities that can be done remotely.
I'd like to share stories, adventures, projects, thoughts, and exchange our point of view about the most improbable matters.
What I Can Share with Hosts
They say I am an excellent cook so I can cook for you some Italian food but I can also make some sushi, Thai curry, couscous and various international dishes ;)
I can help you to tidy and organise your stuff, I am really good at making living spaces more comfortable and at maximising logistic and the usability of everything.
I can also offer some psychological counselling as I have a Master Degree in Psychology (but just letting you know, I'm not a headshrinker and I'm an out-of-the-box psychologist as I don't believe in mental illness and I'm firmly anti-psychiatry.
We can practice yoga together and have deep conversations about everything concerning personal growth, mindfulness or anything you'd like to share with me.
