Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Gabrielle, but most people call me Gabby (either one is fine). I'm a 19 year old girl from suburban Minnesota currently traveling around the US, living in my converted mini van. I have always had an innate curiosity towards life and its facets -- I strive to understand (to the best of my human ability) the nature of all that is. Self reflection and spirituality are big parts of my life because of this. I am always pushing myself to be the best version I can be and challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone. I like to spend my time deep in thought, in my own inner world -- but on a physical realm, to be immersed in nature reflecting on the interconnectedness of it all. I tend to be more on the introverted side, regularly needing time alone to process daily life events, but love a stimulating conversation. My achilles heel(s) are self doubt, social anxiety, overanalyzing, perfectionism, and tendency towards depression and anxiety. I always try to follow my intuition above all and be as empathetic towards others as I can be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To mix it up here n there while living out of my van and broaden my travel horizons, hopefully making long-lasting connections along the way. I think it will be helpful for me to have a break from van living every so often so I don’t get burnt out. My hope is that through couch surfing, I can meet people who help me grow as an individual, and people who I can help grow as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Mike Love, Trevor Hall, Fleet Foxes, Justin Vernon/Bon Iver/Volcano Choir, Shakey Graves, Tame Impala, The Black Keys, Glass Animals, GRiZ, Mandolin Orange, CloZee, Led Zeppelin, Eddie Vedder, Billie Holiday, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Frank Ocean, Rising Appalachia, Yaima... Clearly my music taste goes in a lot of different directions. Doesn’t really matter which genre if the musician is talented and their music makes me feel somethin’.
Movies: Princess Mononoke, Interstellar, Into the Wild, and childhood favorites such as Lilo and Stitch, A Bug's Life, and Mulan.
My favorite book I’ve read is The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Currently working on book #2 of the trilogy, "World Without End."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Chose to leave my familiar bubble of living with my mom in my hometown my whole life to solo traveling out of a mini van at 19! It's the hardest thing I've ever done. But, I also loved parasailing in Washington state and rock climbing cliffs of the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a pretty good potter, I could teach techniques if ever an opportunity. I'd love to learn more about travel tips, gardening/self sustainability, health and wellness, healing/spiritual practices (reiki, manifestation, affirmations, etc), or pretty much anything unfamiliar to me. I really like to understand how things work, so many topics spark my curiosity.
