Travel, explore and live life to the fullest!
ABOUT ME
Hey! My name is Gabrielle, but I usually go by Gabs.
I was born in 1992 in France and spent most of my life in a small town near Paris.
Ever since I can remember, my dream was to speak English fluently and live abroad. In 2008, I had the great opportunity to cross the Atlantic and stay in Calgary (Canada) for a couple months. This triggered a real need to travel and discover more places. After working in London for a summer, I studied in San Francisco for a year. In January 2014, I moved to Shanghai, China to study business (and Mandarin) at a local university. I now live in Paris where I work in consulting for luxury brands.
I could say about myself that I am curious, adventurous and dedicated. My friends like to make fun of me for being a bit too passionate about things sometimes. But hey, I can't help it :)
PHILOSOPHY
An adventure begins when something doesn't go as planned!
I love adventures. They are a perfect way to break out of your routine and learn about the world and even yourself. I hope to never stop living an adventurous life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started using Couchsurfing during a biking trip from San Francisco down to Los Angeles. Both times, the experience was so awesome that it really motivates me to start hosting people too! I should have my own place in Paris next January so I should be able to host people by then :-)
Interests
I love dance... i really really love it! Although I've taken Ballet and Ballroom before, my absolute favorite type of dance is Jazz.
I also love music in general - playing and listening. I've played the violin since I was 6 year old and have been teaching myself the piano for several years now. I recently bought a guitar - hopefully I can learn that too?
I have lots of other interests ... like going on any type of adventure! biking, hiking, sailing, climbing, water sports, photography, drawing, traveling, cooking, planning small events, learning new languages, babysitting, reading, mmh... yep. That's all I can think of right now.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many different types of music... but who doesn't ? From classical to pop, rock, electro, indie, even country music! Well everything except for metal and hard rock, probably.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2013, I went on a biking trip with my best friend here in San Francisco. We left the Fog City and planned to go down to LA in approximately two weeks. Obviously, things didn't go as planned. A minor knee injury forced him to slow down and rest along the way. We decided to take it slow and explore cities like Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel. Although we were first supposed to camp at Hiker Biker sites, we decided to try Couchsurfing... we ended up couchsurfing on a boat in the Monterey bay. It was a fabulous experience!
We ended the biking trip in San Luis Obispo because of a time constraint but we enjoyed every second of it. I'll definitely go on a trip like that again! :)
