We are Gabrielle (31) and Benoit (36) - you can call us Gaby & Ben - , living in the suburb of Paris and liking to leave it to travel around the world.
Benoit is the community manager of a multinational company. Gabrielle is an urban planner working as a consultant for the French tourism industry.

We also have a cat at home, Persée [actually, we still haven't figured out if she's the one living with us or if we are the ones living with her...] ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love travelling, meeting new people, discovering new cultures, learning new languages and tasting new food. But when we travel, we often are a little bit frustrated because it's sometimes difficult to meet local people. By couchsurfing, we hope to have an insight of the "real life" of the country we are visiting, to talk about everything and anything with people we probably wouldn't have met otherwise and to make new friends.

And when we're not travelling, hosting travellers at home is a good way to stay in touch with this "travelling mood" and to go on learning about our world.

We've have tried couchsurfing not so long ago when travelling abroad and we've met so nice and amazing people. Now, it's our turn to welcome people home.
We also have done plenty of carpooling in Europe before (we usually are the drivers and like to share our car and our trips with people, it has always been a wonderful experience!)

Interests

Benoit used to play guitar and act in theatre shows, he likes playing tennis and watching rugby games while drinking a beer in a pub with friends. He also likes talking politics, history and geopolitics.

Gabrielle likes riding horses, practicing yoga, organizing lots ot things, DIY, learning new things, visiting museums and seeing cultural exhibitions. And she does like above all everything related to urban planning and cities development.

We also both like hanging around with friends, doing home-made cooking, jogging in the forest.

• Looking at the sunrise at 5 a.m in the Negev desert in Israel
• Facing a winter storm at the Giant's Causeway in Ireland
• Finding our way back home into the labyrinth of souks in Marrakech
• Sleeping on a tatami mat in a traditional japanese ryokan
