Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently finishing my master degree in politics and urban planning and I will soon work as an internship for an NGO called MegaCities ShortDocs. We run a video festival of short documentaries filmed by citizens of Megacities (10 millions inhabitants or more) to show existing solutions and inspire new initiatives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXSdKURtOl0

I will be travelling in New York city from February 23rd to March 5th, then Tokyo from March 6th to 15th, then Lagos from April 2nd to 13th and Istanbul from April 13th to 20th. My company is paying for my flights but not for the hotel, that's why I'm looking for cheap solutions. I also want to get as much experience and knowledge as I can from this incredible trip, and I wouldn't like to stay alone in an hotel room every night..
