Hi! I’m Gaby 😊

I’m originally from Michigan, USA and have been traveling the world on and off for the past 7 years 🌍. I’m a lover of the outdoors and slow, immersive travel — backpacking, hiking, biking, scuba diving, and wandering new cities on foot are some of my favorite ways to explore.

In the U.S., I live in a van 🚐 and work seasonal jobs in national parks and ski resorts to support my nomadic lifestyle. I’ve traveled all over the U.S., South America, the Middle East, parts of Canada and Southeast Asia, and I’m currently making my way through Europe.

I created this Couchsurfing account a while ago but never used it because of the fees (true budget backpacker energy 😅). But now I’m excited to connect, share stories 📖, and meet fellow travelers and locals. I’d love to chat over a cup of tea or coffee ☕, swap travel tales, or even cook a meal together 🍳.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I prefer to immerse myself in a new place with locals! As a budget backpacker, saving money is always a plus!

Interests

I have many interests. The biggest is travel of course but I also am very passionate about the environment. I love to explore nature and care deeply about preserving it. I love live music and going to events to dance and enjoy music with others. I am not a big drinker but I do enjoy it on occasion. I live an active lifestyle and like to make the most of my time while also balancing time to chill and relax as well.
