Overview
About Me
Hello! We’re Fredrick and Gabriela, an adventurous couple from Houston, Texas, who recently got engaged. Gaby is originally from the vibrant Michoacán, Mexico, and she brings a rich cultural perspective to our lives. We’re both passionate about exploring new places, meeting new people, and creating unforgettable memories together.
Freddy has had an eclectic career path. He started out in the oil field right after high school, then transitioned to operating heavy machinery and later became a superintendent in industrial demolition. His journey didn’t stop there – he earned a master certification in crane rigging, led an Exxon project, and even started a meal prepping business that caught the attention of Chris Shepperd, leading to a cooking stint at Georgia James. Eventually, his diverse experiences brought him into the auto industry, and finally, we teamed up to create Sap Arborcare Landscaping & Construction.
I, Gaby, have always dreamed of being a teacher, following in my father’s footsteps. Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to shape young minds, and that passion led me to study pedagogy and start my career in education. Teaching was incredibly fulfilling, but the opportunity to partner with Freddy in our business was too exciting to pass up. Together, we’ve built something we’re truly proud of.
When we’re not working, you’ll find us scuba diving, snow boarding, swimming, hiking, biking, or exploring new trails. We’re both food enthusiasts who love eating, experimenting with new recipes and cooking up delicious meals. We also dedicate time to rescuing animals, a cause close to our hearts.
Traveling is a huge part of our lives. Gaby has had the incredible opportunity to travel to 18 countries, experiencing diverse cultures and making wonderful memories along the way. She’s a seasoned Couchsurfer who loves the connections and experiences it brings. Together, we’ve explored three amazing countries: Mexico, Costa Rica, and Belize. Now, Freddy is about to get introduced to Couchsurfing on our upcoming birthday trip to Alaska this July.

Music, Movies, and Books
We have a diverse taste in music that varies from classic rock to country, hip-hop, electronic, world music, and more. Our playlists are always eclectic and full of surprises. When it comes to books, we both enjoy business and self-help genres. Some of our favorites include "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, and "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. As for films, Freddy’s favorite genre is comedy, while Gaby loves thrillers. We both enjoy watching documentaries and often find ourselves engrossed in stories that offer new perspectives and insights.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most remarkable things we've done is start our own business, Sap Arborcare, during the pandemic. Despite the skepticism from friends and family, who didn’t think it was a good idea, and the loss of some relationships along the way, we took a leap of faith. Leaving behind the security of what we knew to embark on this bold journey was challenging, but it has been incredibly rewarding. This experience has taught us resilience, determination, and the value of following our passions, no matter the odds.
Additionally, we are deeply committed to rescuing animals together. Helping our furry friends in need is a cause close to our hearts, and it has brought us immense joy and fulfillment. These endeavors have enriched our lives and strengthened our resolve to make a positive impact in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
**Teach:**
We love sharing our knowledge and skills with others. Freddy can teach you about operating heavy machinery, landscaping, and starting a business from scratch. Gaby, with her background in education, can offer insights into pedagogy and teaching techniques. Freddy also enjoys cooking and would be delighted to share some of his favorite recipes and cooking tips.
**Learn:**
We are always eager to learn new things and broaden our horizons. Whether it's picking up a new language, discovering local customs, or trying out new activities, we’re open to any opportunities for learning. Freddy is particularly interested in learning more about sustainable practices in landscaping and construction, while Gaby is always keen to learn about travel, being a good parent, sustainable living, growing the business, and more.
**Share:**
We love to share our experiences and stories from our travels and adventures. From our journey of starting a business during the pandemic to our animal rescue efforts, we have plenty of tales to tell. We also enjoy sharing good food, music, and movie recommendations. If you’re into books, we can exchange favorite titles and discuss our latest reads. Most importantly, we look forward to sharing laughs and creating new memories with fellow travelers.
