About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel around the world and meet people from as many countries as possible
ABOUT ME
I am a friendly guy from Texas who is now living in Raleigh. I love to travel and meet new people of all cultures. I love humor and being able to laugh and notice the positive things in situations. I used to live in Boston for 16 years so I know the city very well. I went to Boston University for undergrad. and Cambridge College for grad. school.
I'm trained as a professional counselor and am a flautist.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have posted on message boards offering suggestions/advice on what to do in cities.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have been a member of this site but have yet to sleep on someone's couch. Hope to gain more experience soon
***I don't have any experience staying with people on this site yet partially because I usually stay with family or friends when traveling. I have also stayed in places on hotels.com though I prefer Airbnb if I'm not able to find accommodations here.
I have accumulated some excellent reviews from Airbnb hosts. To read my reviews by these hosts check out this URL link: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/7635977#reviews

Very clean and pleasant to share some wine with. Come back to Dallas.

Gerardo was a great person to have over the past two nights. Nice chat over wine while we did a bit of prep. Clean, courteous and respectful. Hope to have him stay again when he's in Dallas.

Gerardo was quiet, respectful and left the place clean. He communicated well about his stay and would certainly be welcomed back.

Geraldo was a nice and respectful guest during his visit. He clearly communicated his plans with us during his stay and kept his surroundings tidy. It's unfortunate that he was only able to stay with us one night. We hope we can host him again next time he stops in Philly.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my favorite music genres is classical music, jazz, latino pop, Gregorian chant. I enjoy horror films, documentaries, based-on-true stories movies, comedy, and so on. I have always been an avid reader (enjoy reading the Bible, nonfiction)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen Niagra Falls. Been to San Francisco, Seattle, Mexico City, Montreal, New Orleans. Took Amtrak from Seattle back to Boston! I even did a plane spotting cruise once in Boston which was an eye-opening experience being so close to the airport runway as the planes passed right over your head (you could wave to the pilot and see the passengers reading).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to read/play sheet music and the flute, teach Spanish. Love to learn new languages, how to play other instruments, how to dance new dance styles.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love of music with hosts (play music for you), share my knowledge of Spanish if you wish you learn or engage in a conversation, or I can listen to you in a nonjudgmental/compassionate/empathetic way (I'm taught how to do this as a psychotherapist and peer counselor).
