Overview
About Me
I'm an aspiring filmmaker (right now inconstant writer and random rookie cartoonist too) who loves linguistics, anthropology, philosophy and, of course, cinema.
In March 2023 I embarked on a one-year travel around Europe and more with my main goal being to get to Tbilisi and then Yerevan slow travelling by land and volunteering/working along the way. I ended up travelling for more than 18 months with Mashhad, Iran as my last stop. Now home, I'm studying documentary filmmaking in Milano.
The main reason I travel is because I see it as an extension of how I also experience Cinema: travelling is a beautiful chance to immerse myself in other people's worlds, being challenged by different experiences and different backgrounds. It simply helps me becoming a better person, as well as a better writer. That's why most days you can find me buried in a movie theatre having film marathons until my eyes and brain beg me for mercy. All because I do believe in beautifully told stories and their power to change the world.
I'm now in the middle of creating a portfolio while also writing about the experiences I've had, but most of all the people I've met during those 18 months. I'm taking portraits with a very humble Olympus Zoom3000 and I write about the people I take portraits of with my just as humble Pilot G2 07. I'm always looking for great stories and great people, for whom I merely aim to be the vessel so that they will be heard.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on Couchsurfing for a while now, but I only started using it fully last year. It might be that I was too scared, or generally not ready for a more genuine way of travelling. But I am now ready to meet people, listen to their stories and get even just a glimpse of their culture. After all, I've always had a thing for listening to people and seeing how they lighten up while talking about their passions and experiences around the world.

Last movie I watched: Level Five by Chris Marker
🎵music
amongst others: Paolo Nutini, The Runaways, Deep Purple, Men I Trust, Little Simz + I have a soft spot for Mia Martini, and an obsession for acid and ravehouse techno and trance
🕮 currently reading: The Eight Life by Nino Haratischwili
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I joined a bunch of German kids in a rave on a train that left from Nuremberg and went across Bavaria for 8 hours
Teach, Learn, Share
Everything I know and I've experienced I'll happily share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Generally, I can offer a good laugh, some philosophical (sometimes too deep) conversations about the world and some italian food! When in doubt, cook carbonara 🍝
Also, I'm good at video editing and writing (movie scripts, poetries and more general texts). You might end up getting a vintage postcard from me if I like you enough (and if I find the right one for you).
And of course, that goes without saying but I'll happily help out with whatever might be needed in the house.
