About Me

Hi! We’re Gaia and Chris!

Gaia:
Hi! I’m 23! I grew up in Florence, Italy. I moved to Santa Barbara, CA for City College. I’ve traveled around Europe, Costa Rica and solo traveled to Bali. I love climbing, film photography, camping and traveling! I love meeting new people, sharing each other’s stories and learn something new!

Chris:
Hello, I just recently turned 21 as of April 6th! I was born and raised in Larkspur/Mill Valley Area just north of San Francisco. I Also moved to Santa Barbara for City College and to explore my interests and to meet others. I grew up learning about the outdoors thanks to my dad who took me on and still takes me on tons of outdoor adventures such as road trips, camping, skiing, biking, and backpacking. This contributed to my interest in studying the environment. I have taken some Geology, sustainable farming, eco and bio classes along with other classes that peak my interest. Recently being in Santa Barbara I have picked up surfing as a hobby and would love to have an opportunity to get out there on off days. Other than that I am looking forward to new experiences and am excited to explore and meet new people and their way of life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Gaia: I met a guy during my interrail in Europe who is couchsurfing and he was talking about what an amazing time he's been having so my friend and I decided to try it. I love meeting new people, hearing where they're from and what their story is. I love to meet locals, people who know their town's secrets, people who show you what it's really like to live in that city, so you don't just get the turisty experience. I love seeing the everyday life. It opens my mind a bit more everyday.
Chris:
I am new to this kind of traveling but it seems very appealing to me because is a great way to get around quick and meet people to help learn from each other while enjoying new places

Interests

Gaia: I am not interested much in turisty stuff but I will do some of it if I think it's a must. I trust advice locals give me!
I am mostly plantbased! If I can I eat vegan :)
Chris: I love recreational activities in nature so really anything involving that I am interested in. I am also always looking to learn so really its hard to find something that doesn’t interest me.

I don't read much. I’m working my way through Guns Germs and Steel, and anthropology book I stumbled upon and fell in love with! I also loove dancing!
Chris:
Whatever music fits vibe i listen to all kinds and always am looking for cool new songs to add to my library
My kind of movies are sci fi well done thought provoking movies but i also enjoy cheesy comedies
I don’t read too many books but I loved to read history books and informative books such as my field guide to mushrooms or trees.
