About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To finish my Ph.D without losing my mind too much
ABOUT ME
A very general description of me would include that I'm an easy-going lassie who enjoys traveling the old-fashioned way. I spend my free time making food and drinking with my flatmates, and I like to do sports to compensate my sedentary scientist existence.
I like talking with friends about traditions, history, philosophy, food, and old youth adventures.
I grew up in sunny Sicily and I'm easily put off by rain, but a sunny day really gets the best out of me!
PHILOSOPHY
If you have nothing nice/clever to say you might just as well say nothing at all.
Manners count a lot - don't be rude! (not just with me, but generally, in your every-day life, with everybody, especially with rude people).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing back in 2012 when I moved to Glasgow and was skint and in need of new friends. I've hosted/been hosted by loads of people in the meantime, and I love being part of the project!

Music, Movies, and Books
Like pretty much any kind of music, from classical to rock. Hate horror movies, but really enjoy good films with good casts and directors. I love reading, particularly Italian authors and philosophy books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- I traveled through three European countries (Italy, France, UK) by land with my dog, Kenya, the greatest travel companion!;
- I manufactured my own film emulsion and I felt like Dr.Frankenstein with his Creature (before everything went incredibly wrong);
- I ran analytical tests in a very unorthodox lab in Ethiopia when I was 18. Somebody also had me withdraw blood from someone's arm and I managed not to faint (the last bit is the most amazing part of the story);
- I cycled at night-time all along Viale della Libertà in Palermo with my hands in the air, without ever touching the bar or the breaks.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can be quite nerdy sometimes and just list you obscure facts about history, science, philosophy - stuff you might never need but that is cool to know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have the craziest stories about my travelling adventures, would be glad to share them with anyone in front of a beer.
