Howdy you beautiful people!

I am Kait, a field biologist and wandering dreamer and explorer of adventure. I Have spent the last year+ roaming about, working, writing and playing.

I have a deep love and respect for the wild places of the world. From mountain tops to big sky prairie lands to the vast oceans and the shifting space where earth and waters meet. I also have a deep love for fine wine, good food and craft beer. As well as clean swells, fresh powder, live music, back country camping and trains (oh yes, trains).

I am currently volunteering and living out on the American Prairie Reserve in Eastern Montana, hanging out with Buffalo and Prairie Dogs, and will be spending my summer working in the mountain's of Washington leading youth conservation crews.

I truly believe that you get what you give in this life and that positive light attracts positive light. I also believe a good belly laugh and some amazing pizza is sometimes all you really need...

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

It is an exciting way to meet new people and see the less populated, less touristy areas of the world. Locals always have the best insight as to where to go, what to eat and what tiny little gem(s) their region holds. I have met some amazing people couch and yard surfing over the years. Am currently enjoying the travel aspect of life but also look forward to the day when I can host those who are on their own journey.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Not sure if they are amazing, but my two favorite memories from last year's travels are:

Sleeping in a very cold but cozy horse trailer in British Columbia in November, while working on an organic farm learning the finer art of goat keeping.

Hiking and camping the Caparthian Mountains in Slovakia last summer with one of my best friends, in the pouring rain, scaring off elk and trudging through mud, all so that we could stand on the highest peak where Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine meet.

I spend a lot of my free time while traveling writing words and playing the guitar (especially those long hours when I'm on or waiting for public transportation). Some of those words turn into what I hope to be poetry. You can find some of these words here... ->

Simply just me and my experiences. I have spent the better part of the last 16 months constantly on the road working and playing, and through this have gained an immense love for the human connection that is made when two strangers get the chance to share each others worlds.
