Gail Helen is my artist name I live in the south of France paint, give courses and rent the property for holiday’s. I work mainly in oils which lend themselves with their strong vibrant colours to her preference for vivid landscapes. My aims is to capture the emotion of a scene, which can incorporate colours or forms to highlight the heat, or as seen in my sea scenes the wind and energy.
Living in the south of France, I love to depict the local trees, in particular the olive and cypress.
In my Dante series my aim is to display the emotive aspects of his 'Divine Comedy' in an abstract form. Work has been displayed and sold worldwide.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am travelling in Xi'an and my daughter has said it is a good way to meet people and learn more of the culture.

My interests are Art as I am a painter, photography my old occupation and reading, walking, good company.
