Overview
About Me
Born in Japan raised in Spain, Barcelona since an early age, 5 months to be exact. I have been exposed to multiple languages and cultures since a young age, Japanese at home, Spanish in the streets and English at school. It seemed natural that I would not be settling in one country. My higher education took me to the UK where I spent 4 years. I got the chance to appreciate good old English humour and get used to the different accents! Still have trouble with the accent from Glasgow :) Having finished my studies my life took a turn and ended up in Belgium. I did not plan to stay more than 2 - 3 years but like all plans they change. It's been now 9 years and I have stopped counting. If you like a place stay, if you don't move :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is nothing better when travelling than meeting, hearing stories and getting recommendations from the locals themselves. It is, I feel, the best way to get to know a country. Although I'm new to couchsurfing I feel that it follows this philosophy.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love music of all forms and shapes but absolutely love rock and blues! Artists I like to name a few: John Lee Hooker, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Cesaria Evora, Howling Wolf, Dire Straits, Metallica etc etc...
Favorite book still to this day is George Orwell's 1984. Other books I really enjoyed are Nelson Mandela's autobiography, Moon Palace from Paul Auster, Human Stain from Philip Roth. Currently reading the book Cooked from Michael Pollan.
