ABOUT ME

How to describe oneself? It's harder than you might think. So here's a journal entry from MANY years ago doing just that...

Poetically speaking, I am a Woman. I am a fire fairy, moon goddess, water spirit, reflective soul. I am a druid priestess, dancing with the trees, an angel sunlight queen, singing with the wind. I am love, and I am loved, and I am creation. I am beauty, and I am free.

In reality, I am just a quiet girl who dreams.

Metaphorically speaking, I am the saphire-turquoise butterfly on your garden statue. I am the lioness, huntress, fearless mother guardian leader. I am a warm smile with wings, and the cozy feeling of friends, and I am darkness.

In your reality, I am the shy one in the back who is forgotten.

Majestically speaking, I am the mountain top sunrise above the earth. I am the raincloud, thunderstorm, tornado lightning flash of hurricane energy, and I am peace. I am the ocean waves, deep sea mystery, and I am the river of time. I am the highway, freeway, city-scape spirit of life. I am alone with everyone and everything. I am the question and the truth.

In my reality, there is no reality, and I am your perception. I am myself.

Truly speaking, I am a person and I am alive. I am an earthbound moonbeam starchild dancing in the sun, and I am the music that moves me. I am a firelight poetic lover, heart singer, angelic dream lady. I am contained passion, expressed harmony, and I am the song. I am born of the sun with wings of fire and a soul as endless as time. I am everything, I am emptiness, and I am as deep as my eyes. I am the artist, poet, musician, dancer, and I am the painting, poem, song. I am the dance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently living a nomadic life, so the ability to spend a night here and there with the fantastic people I've found on CS is a real blessing. One day if I have a couch of my own I look forward to returning the favor!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm still pretty new here, but I've met some amazing people and I can't imagine traveling any other way!

Interests

Hiking, camping, cooking without grains, eating, human anatomy and physiology, massage, reiki, yoga, playing music (guitar mainly) and singing with others, reading, gaming (D&D, Cards Against Humanity, Apples to Apples, Scrabble, BSG, dice...), sunbathing, traveling by car and stopping at random bizarre roadside attractions, exploring new places and old places, spending time in good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love historical fiction and well written fantasy/adventure/sci-fi. Favorite authors include Jane Austin, Oscar Wilde, George R. R. Martin, Terry Pratchett, Margaret Mitchell, J. K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, and Neil Gaiman.

Movies: I like period pieces, romantic comedies, superheros, and sci-fi. I do NOT like horror or graphic violence (though I do enjoy the occasional action movie). Favorites include Pride and Prejudice (the BBC version), The Importance of Being Ernest, The Princess Bride, Serenity, the original versions of the original Star Wars trilogy, Yellow Submarine, and many more I'm sure I'm forgetting.

It doesn't say T.V., but I'm including it anyway. Favorites include: Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory, Buffy, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development, Firefly, South Park, and there's a special place in my heart for StarTrekTNG.

Music: I like bluegrass, classic rock, country, folk, Irish, 80s pop, 90s alternative, and most other types of music that involve real instruments and voices. Favorite artists include Bob Dylan, Gillian Welch, Tom Petty, Rising Appalachia, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, The Beatles, Jonathan Coulton, Gretchen Wilson, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, The Clancy Brothers, and many more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent time in nearly every state in the US, just missing Maine, Rhode Island, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn everything that comes my way, especially anything relating to the human body. I LOVE food and cooking and sharing meals. I have taught yoga, and am happy to share any other knowledge contained in my head and heart.
