About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Climbing, training for climbing, traveling, learning about languages and talking with people from around the world!

ABOUT ME

I like to have discussions about the intense experiences that shape us. But I can also just chill the f out and hang out. Training for climbing is very important to me. Climbing, more so. Before I die I'd like to climb 5.14+ and be a strong all-around climber. I would also like to create a super engaging, human and inspiring classroom for my students. This can be with the material of climbing as central, or second language acquisition. I've done it with climbing and hope to do it with language instruction next.

PHILOSOPHY

Yes please

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some GREAT experiences couchsurfing!! In Paris I met someone to climb with and in my hometown, Tucson, I hosted two of the sweetest guys from the Czech Republic. Really good times.

Music, Movies, and Books

Rumi, translated by Coleman Barks; Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card; the Wind in the Willows; Siddhartha; A Confederacy of Dunces.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved myself to France off the money I made making coffee and climbed for three months at a world-famous spot (Ceuse). Within those three months, I learned how much I have to grow in climbing and how good so many people are at it. Within those three months I think I successfully completed only a handful of routes, but I saw the next level that motivation and training could take me to. That was inspiring.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll make you food, hang out and read nearby, talk whatever subject you want and when I don't know about it, listen. Let's hang out! I want to travel the world selling unbuyable non-things and celebrating them together. Let's construct something: art, stories, hammocks, rock art. Whatever!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good attitude. Cleanliness. Consideration and gentleness. A good vibe and definitely some dishes! Also, if you want to go rock climbing we might be able to work something out :)

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
