I’m Halyna, I’m 34 yo.
I used to host people in Kyiv and Odesa. But now I live in London. I won’t have a luxury place - more like a mattress on a floor in my bedroom. But other than that; the apartment is pretty nice, and location is fantastic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have found this on someone's profile randomly, and it just literally describes my feeling for CS: "If you don't travel yourself at the moment, hosting someone feels like a bit of traveling has come to you".
And I'm also here for that amazing feeling when you greet a stranger and say goodbyes to a friend.

Music, Movies, and Books

Les Misérables — my #1 favorite book and the reason I started learning French.
Movies: hard to tell but I'll surely mention that Rogue One is the best SW movie for me.
TV: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Newsroom, The Office, The IT Crowd, Community (until they fired Harmon), Parks and Recreation, Lovesick, Friends, HIMYM.
Music: could be anything... I love music like Mika, or music like Depeche Mode.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a human: gave a home to a kitten somebody threw away on the street.

As a traveler:
- Fulfilled my biggest dream — went to Patagonia in December 2018;
- Been to Everest Base Camp;
- Went to The Great Wall of China immediately after flying into Beijing and not having slept for 48 hours;
- Did some pretty awesome hikes, including the observation of the beauty of the Andes across 4 countries;
- Traveled through 10 Balkan countries for 3 months;
- Hitchhiked alone a couple of times.

Geeky stuff:
- Watched Les Mis in London 12 times! One more time in NY!
- Flew a real Airbus aircraft (on simulators but..) plus visited Airbus factories in Hamburg and Toulouse, and Boeing factory in Seattle;
- Visited filming locations of Buffy in LA, and sneaked on a set of a BBC TV-show;
- Met 3 Buffy actors irl;
- Been to 10 Disney Parks, only 2 left in the world. Yes, I surprisingly think they are the happiest places on Earth (after Patagonia and all the mountains - jajaja)
