Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Russian, 32 years old, born and raised in Moscow. As a child I was quite a bookworm so now I work as a librarian ;) English language and culture are a bit of an obsession for me. I can say that I am fairly open-minded and welcoming person, I'm always willing to learn and explore something new.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm quite new here, but I love travelling and meeting new people. I travel often alone as well as with my friends, usually staying in hostels or renting appartments on airbnb. I even volunteered in the international music camp in another country which had been an awesome experience. My friends tried couchsurfing and had also very positive experience and recommended it for me.
Interests
I've had a lot of hobbies and interests in my life. I like drawing and painting though I'm mostly good with landscapes and plants. I enjoy dancing, did a bit of irish dancing and lindy-hop at times (I know, quite random). I sing in a choir from time to time and listen to a loooot of pop music (esp. british). I'm interested in all the "arts and crafts" stuff - like learning new techniques and styles and doing something beautiful and useful with my hands. You wouldn't call me a 'sporty' person but I enjoy walking and hiking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Don't know if it's "amazing" but it's something I'm proud of. A year ago I had been pretty miserable, doing the job I hated and feeling a little trapped, so I decided to try and get myself a completely new profession. I always enjoyed gardening and horticulture and garden design but I was too afraid to go into this professionally. And last summer I successfully passed my entry exams and got into our State University of Agriculture's masters programme for landscape architecture. It happened after I spent my holidays in summer camp in England, volunteering there and helping with the farm and the garden, after meeting and talking to local gardeners and landscapers and volunteers. That experience just gave me the final push I needed to go and live my dream.
