I'm Halyna, 33 y.o., originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. Before the full-scale russian invasion in 2022, I had a fulfilling career and spent my free time passionately engaged in Latina-style dancing. I also enjoyed learning languages, with French being a favorite one. Like many of my compatriots, on February 24, 2022, I was forced to flee from my city and country with my cat and friends to escape an enemy invasion. A week of wandering around Europe brought me to my closest friends here in Hamburg. People of Europe provided me with everything I could imagine. After two years of wandering around the rooms of friends, a refugee camp, and a room with a German family, I finally have my own place. This is my opportunity to repay for good.

For the past two and a half years, I've been living in Germany. Starting over in a new country as an adult has been challenging, but I'm trying to build a new life here. I'm currently learning German and figuring out my path forward. While I don't have hobbies at the moment, I'm volunteering to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which helps me stay sane, connected, and purposeful.

I currently only host guests who have references. If you're new to Couchsurfing, I apologize in advance.

Let's clarify one thing: Couchsurfing is not about flirting or romance. For me, Couchsurfing is about helping others and sharing experiences.

If I welcome you into my home, I kindly ask that you inform me of any unexpected changes to your plans as soon as possible. Your visit may require me to adjust my schedule and may involve turning down other guests. A fair warning is simply a matter of respect.

Offering food on one occasion doesn't imply you can help yourself to anything in the fridge the next day. Please ask before eating any of my food. After using towels, please hang them to avoid any odors in the apartment.

I can provide towels and clean sheets. Additionally, there’s shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, and a hairdryer available. There’s also a washing machine/dryer for your use 8 am until 8 pm; please bring your own detergent if you plan to do laundry, or I can give if have it.
If you're on a tight budget, let me know, and I'd be happy to prepare a meal for you. If you don't speak English, Ukrainian, Russian, or German well, I won't be able to host you. Effective communication is crucial, and it would be challenging for both of us if we struggle to understand each other. Regarding etiquette, I kindly ask that during your stay, you avoid contact with anyone who has COVID-19. This is out of consideration for my health, as your actions could affect me and force me to cancel my plans due to illness.
