Resumen
Sobre mí
I studied Architecture and Industrial Design at UT Austin and the Eindhoven University of Technology. In my time in school, I learned to appreciate the human element behind design. Therefore, I am always looking to engage with new people and perspectives on the world.
Before college, I spent most of my childhood in the border town of El Paso, Texas. There, I learned to love, appreciate, and tolerate the cultures of both countries which have shaped my upbringing. I am as excited to share my own culture with new people as I am to learn about new ideas, cultures, and lifestyles.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
Although I am generally perceived to be an introvert, I really do appreciate social interaction and meeting new people. Often, my quiet nature is the result of my willingness to listen and my constant desire to learn from others.
Having studied architecture and the built environment makes me truly appreciate my surroundings whenever I visit a new city. However, I'm on Couchsurfing because I never want to pass through a city and not connect with anyone. Meeting locals is a chance to understand what makes the buildings I admire matter, and this website is in that way a wonderful learning opportunity very much connected to my profession.
Intereses
Through my interest in design I am interested in the human experience. Designing buildings is sometimes a subconscious method of engaging the human experience, but all design ultimately is by humans and for humans. Therefore, I am always interested in what stories people have to tell, and often find myself 'reverse engineering' parts of those stories to understand how the world we interact with influences us.
Apart from design and people, I enjoy mountain and road biking, reading, and music. Until recently I was a devoted musician of 10+ years, but more recently I have just been enjoying through listening.

Música, películas y libros
I enjoy a variety of music but I listen most to classic and indie rock, jazz, and classical. Lately I've dedicated too much time to movies and TV and not enough to books, but I am constantly open to listening to, watching, or reading new things. I also listen to podcasts regularly and would be excited to share or talk about my favorites: 99 Percent Invisible and Radiolab.
Algo increíble que he hecho
I have been both hardworking and fortunate enough in my life to accomplish educational goals that I consider to be quite noteworthy. However, my most exciting stories come from my journey as part of the Texas 4000. This student-run non-profit organization is based in the University of Texas and annually bikes from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to spread Hope, Knowledge, and Charity in the fight against cancer. Each year we fundraise and donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to cancer research institutions, notably MD Anderson in Houston. I am humbled to have been accepted to such an organization and I thoroughly enjoyed being not only a rider but a Travel Coordinator and Mechanic along the 4,000+ miles that we biked in the summer of 2013.d
Enseña, aprende, comparte
As mentioned above, I love to learn more about people and their experiences. I love to translate these stories into potential design opportunities, and I love to talk about and hopefully teach about the use of space, sustainability, and resources in the field of architecture and planning.
I love to share stories and experiences. I love to share my culture and hear about yours.
