ABOUT ME

I keep fit, run, cycle, surf, kick box training. I have three children all still at school and spend a lot of time looking after and hanging out with them. I live in the Bay of Islands which means lots of time spent out on the water in the boat fishing or surfing.

I enjoy cooking and baking and do my best to create a warm family atmosphere at home. Kerikeri is a little Garden of Eden; we have a fantastic Farmers Market every weekend, fresh produce sold out of the orchards on the roadside, award winning wineries, a cheese factory, a chocolate factory, not to mention heaps of cafes selling really great coffee. I have a friend who is an oyster farmer, so never short of top quality seafood. Not making you hungry am I?!

Holidays for me tend to be trips back to the UK to see my family; I go via HK to see my sister. In NZ its motorcycle tours around the two islands or camping at the beach with the children and friends.

I enjoy meeting people and often pick up hitch hikers for a chat, that's how I found out about chouching.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay healthy, live within my means and reduce the stress, too easy to want more than you need. As you get older its good to take on new challenges otherwise you tend to live in the past. Moving to NZ certainly provides lots of opportunities, I am learning to surf and always will be striving to be better! I've got myself a boat but considering trading that in for Hobbie Cat of Paper Tiger.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never used CouchSurfing but in my younger days when I travelled I did sometimes end up staying with friends of friends that I'd met on the road. On my last biking trip I set off by myself but ended up touring with a Californian and Aussie.

I read and generaly rely on referrals from friends. Movies tend to be chosen by my children! Music, varied best describes my taste, I enjoy most stuff accept rap, should be spelt with a 'c' in front!

Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem(-am)

Shooting stars do it for me, seen a few but never tire of them, always looking out for that really big one! Seeing a hump back whale breach off the Great Barrier Reef quite unexpectedly, well unexpected for me anyway, I'm sure the whale new what it was doing! Having dolphins come up to the boat in the Bay of Islands, that can happen quite often. Biking around the South Island. Surfing most weekends at an uncrowded beach - now that is pretty amazing.
