About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Train for an Ironman, climb rocks, see the High Sierra from the top!

ABOUT ME

I'm interested in everything but can't concentrate on anything. I think about engineering all the time and see it in everything, for better or worse. I love music, and festivals. I prefer my music in color, but it's still amazing in black and white. Cold weather is fun for a while, but beaches, sun and water are my favorite things that aren't things. I like traveling to places where I'm not fluent in the language yet.

PHILOSOPHY

Dance harder!

I'm free to leave ... go wherever I please, do whatever I want; I believe everyone should live like that. Don't be dependent on anyone else---man, woman, child, or dog. I want to go everywhere, look at and listen to everything. You can go crazy with some of the wonderful stuff there is in life." - Shel Silverstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to couchsurf while traveling so that I can see the city with someone that knows it, but also I really enjoy hosting.

Since moving to Toulouse I had the opportunity to host about once a week and truly enjoyed it. I love the exchange of ideas with people from all over the world who share their views on life, the universe, and everything with me. So far I've been introduced to local dishes, workaway, and juggling; I'm sure I'll have another new interest after my next surfer visits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed with someone in Toronto that I met at Bonnaroo, it's unfortunate that she isn't on CouchSurfing because she and her boyfriend were the most amazing guides to an amazing city!

Two friends and I stayed in an amazing flat in Granada with five university students, and on one night five other couchsurfers as well. The place was an amazing mix of people from Spain to Turkey and various countries in between.

Interests

Traveling, learning languages, listening to music, having nothing with me but my backpack and its contents, cycling, camping/hiking, going to the park, Geocaching!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The High Tatras in Eastern Slovakia! A friend from exchange and I are currently traveling from Budapest, to Zdiar, to Prague on our spring vacation, and Zdiar has been a perfect retreat. Picturesque mountains surround the place we're staying, and it only takes a 10 minute walk to have a breathtaking vista. The experience of the train/bus rides to this place were also great experiences that took me just outside of my comfort zone to that place where travel is exhilarating in its unfamiliarity.

Moving to France for a year! Deciding to move away from everyone that I know for a year to study and immerse myself in French language and culture has been the biggest decision I've made, but also one that I think will be greatly fulfilling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge of engineering if you're into that sort of thing.

I'd like to learn how to cook things, about cheeses, wines, food in general!
