Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Survive Medical School while staying happy and active.
ABOUT ME
I am a jack-of-all trades now focusing on a particular trade-- I'm in medical school. I don't have a whole lot of time to do much of anything anymore, but I've left my profile as it is (below) because I am still that person, somewhere under all the study books. :-)
I love learning new skills, and am often willing to jump headfirst into a new experience. I care deeply about helping others and I empathize strongly with others' situations and want to learn all that I can to help find lasting solutions to some of the world's problems. Specifically, I have built houses and trails as a volunteer, and I plan to be a doctor someday.
I have a lot of energy, which I use to be involved in a wide variety of things. From acting to building houses to astronomy research, I have done a little bit of a large amount of things. I always look forward to the opportunity to acquire new skills and experiences!
PHILOSOPHY
Most things I do are motivated by one (or both) of two things:
-- being of service to others
-- making a good story to tell
I spend a lot of time thinking and putting into action ways to be of service to others. This can take the form of something personal (helping a family build a home), or in a broader sense (studying to be a doctor so I can be more empowered to help others) or in an even broader sense (thinking about ways to have a nation in which no one is suffering).
I also spend time acquiring and honing skills that will allow me to make connections with many many people. I guarantee you that you and I have something in common we could talk about -- you might know more about it than I, and I'd love to learn it! This sort of attitude helps me make connections, have adventures, and ultimately give me more perspective on the world and its people.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed for awhile, socialized in day activities, and now I'm willing to host if the timing works out for my schedule (exams, et cetera).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had good couchsurfing experiences. I couchsurfed in Argentina and Chile, and really enjoyed meeting people in that way. I slept on couches, and met people for fun day activities. Now I am grounded in medical school, and not much fun to be around (just kidding, I still have some free time, but not much).
