About Me

I'm a Life Sciences major college student studying in Singapore. I'm going on exchange this semester so I'll be travelling Europe, and I've just started up a Couchsurfing profile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came back from my first backpacking trip about a month ago, and I realised that couch surfing is a great way to meet new people and have a culturally immersive experience while travelling.

Interests

I love sports - I play basketball in school (even though I'm pretty short) - especially water sports.
New interest: Skateboarding! (I want to go on ramps, do tricks, though I can't *yet*)

I love the outdoors - I like to be in the sun, explore nature, probably because I've lived in a city all my life

I love learning languages, I have a huge academic interest in Chinese, my Mother Tongue, but I can also speak German and French (listed in order of proficiency)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - My taste changes all the time, right now I listen a lot to Kodaline and Deep House music

Movies - Haven't watched any great movie in awhile, but I normally like action movies, Chinese Historical films. I've also recently started watching Bollywood films!

Books - His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman is my all-time favourite series. Currently reading Game of Thrones. Also recently discovered non-fiction, which I never used to read for leisure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just came back on a backpacking trip that traced the Silk Route, passing through parts of China, including Gansu and Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan, and Northern India.
I learnt a lot about the history of Silk Route, the spread of religion (especially Buddhism) in these areas, and of course the cultures of the 3 countries. It was an amazing experience for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share about Singapore (where I come from), or the Chinese culture and language, which I have a great interest in.

I love learning about the way of life in other countries, which is why I joined Couchsurfing in the first place.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel experiences, my fun and enthusiasm, not sure what else to include here...

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
