Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but I don't own any recordings, digital or analog, except for a few collectors items. I'm much more about doing and experiencing than collecting.
I hardly know the names of any bands. I listen to a lot of streamed music. I like what I haven't heard before. I like what takes me by surprise. I like world music, from Dub to gamalan to a hundred styles I don't know the names of but express the universal of humanity. I like ska, skatalites to op-iv. I like goofy punk, The Dead Milkmen, but not Hardcore. I even like some emo, thinking Belle and Sebastian (love the French horn sound on some of it) and Modest mouse (Interesting vocal rhythms). I listen to classical, Jazz (no cool or light Jazz - more Vandermark 5, Miles or Sun Ra), whatever.

I play drums (kit as well as congas, djimbe, etc), guitar, bass (electric and stand up), trumpet, saxophone, and just about anything else I can get my hands on.
