I was born in Copacabana, grew up in Rio and after moving to Europe lived in quite a few special places - including a huge palace in Vienna, an alpine chalet near a glacier and a lovely villa near Cannes, where I still go back every year for the film festival. Now I'm mainly based in a Swiss chalet, but travel all the time to interesting places around the world. I'm quite sensitive and artistic, my drawings were published by a national newspaper in Brazil and one of my essays was a chapter in an American book. I have a very deep voice, but could not sing even to save my own life and the only instrument I can play is the doorbell. I love risky adrenaline sports (climbing, diving, etc); languages (fluent in five, studying another five) and travelling: 122 countries visited so far, want to see all of them. I have been vegetarian since I was ten years old and although I haven't been blessed with the gift of faith I am fascinated by spirituality and very open minded in general. I do many things for a living, mainly in media/telco, smart cities and space exploration. I'm an active member of a United Nations economic development programme and currently run a non-profit to bring affordable wireless internet to refugees and low income citizens in developing countries www.broadlights.org

Like Harry Potter, I have a bolt scar on my forehead... I've done some pretty crazy stuff in my life, like saving a skyscraper in Rio from burning down before the firemen arrived, crossing the land border between Pakistan and Afghanistan illegally while dressed like a Taliban, getting stuck at the airport escaping from Baghdad, having the Turkish Army shooting at me by mistake near the Syrian border (then offering me tea at their barracks to apologise), defying a direct order from the Eritrean Minister of Defence not to go back to his country, crossing a minefield in East Timor, swimming with sharks in Tahiti without a cage... plus a few other dangerous stories that I would not recommend anyone else to try - but which I'm glad to have experienced (and survived).
