I'm pretty much a couch potato with a fervent interest in travelling and learning about the peoples and cultures of the world. But when I'm not out and about, then yeah, I'm a couch potato. I'm finishing up a degree in Psychology, too, and about a couple years ago I fulfilled my life-long dream of becoming a police officer. Before that, though, I used to be an English teacher, first in Spain and then in Qatar. I like hiking and I prefer the cold over the scorching heat of the summer. My favorite landscape, at least in what I've seen of Spain, is Estany de Sant Maurici. I went there in the winter of 2012 and got to walk on its frozen surface. I fell in love right away! *____*

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Since I can't do as much exploring as I'd like, getting to host foreigners still allows me the opportunity to learn about their way of life without leaving the comfort of my own house 8-) . And I am glad to be able to share with others what I know about Spain and Catalonia! I'm particularly fond of our music and movies and I always have a bunch of recommendations to share!!

Intereses

I don't really have much free time, so I'm still wondering. One thing I do like is Postcrossing, which is a service that allows you to exchange postcards with people all over the world. Hmmm! Música, películas y libros

MUSIC: I generally like pop: La Oreja de Van Gogh, Maldita Nerea, El Barrio, El Arrebato... There's this beautiful Vietnamese song I'm in love with too, "Chắc Ai Đó Sẽ Về." Olia Hoang has a great cover in English too! Also, check out Laura Pausini's "Entre Tú y Mil Mares," just to name a few. 2016 EDIT: Vietnamese pop star Miu Lê is pretty cool too!
MOVIES: I'm a pretty big fan of "How I Met Your Mother." That's, I think, the only TV series I've ever watched to completion. Other than that, Spanish "Los Hombres de Paco" was pretty good too. I like thought-provoking movies, like that one about the butterfly or "Requiem for a Dream" or "Inception". I also like Spanish films. Some of my favorites would be "Mientras Duermes" or... Ionno. Some others, probably! 2016 EDIT: I'm determined to watch the whole of The Big Bang Theory this year... I'm down to Season 2 right now and keeping a good pace! :P Couchsurfers Heather and Henry also recommended Lost, so I'm keeping that on my watch list for later.
BOOKS: And as for books, I don't get the opportunity to read often, but I liked "Life of Pi", for instance, and also amateur writer Sarah Winman's "When God Was a Rabbit." In Spanish, I have fond memories of Gabriel García Márquez's "Diario de un Náufrago."

Algo increíble que he hecho

I'm in love with a penguin 🐧❤. Have you ever loved a penguin? It's pretty amazing. The most amazing thing I've ever done. More than taking planes. More than going to terror's heaven. JUST. THE. BEST. Try. You should try. Find yourselves another penguin, though, this one's taken and I'm not gonna let her go!! 😍

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I'm a big fan of food and I've discovered pretty good restaurants along with the Couchsurfers I have hosted so far. Embutidos, crema catalana or canelones are just a few of the dishes I'd like you to try! Other than that, like I said, I'm all for sharing movies and music and beautiful landscapes.
