About Me

I'm Garen, originally from Wales in the UK 😊👋

Currently living in the beautiful country that is NZ!!! What an amazing place!

Always looking to meet new exciting people and share stories of old times and to learn about different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new amazing people and make life long friends and to experience an area like a real local and not so much as a tourist.

Interests

I lovvvve.. surfing, snowboarding and happy, funny people!!

I'm traveling with a guitar and getting better (but should practise more)

Also I love to have fun with.. devil sticks and frisbeeee!!

One important thing in my life is practising being mindful.. I try to meditate every day which helps me to be even more happy and positive about challenges in life.

Rock climbing is something that I'm also looking to get into.. if anyone has any tips!!

  • traveling
  • music
  • live music
  • nature
  • new experiences

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide range of music from 60's Rock to modern House & Techno and also getting into some classical music!

Books.. I'm pretty bad at reading and take a long time..

One very good book that every couch surfer should read is.. 1000 days of Spring by Tomislav Perko. About a guy hicthiking and couchsurfing around Europe and Asia on $10 a day!!

Also other good ones I've read.. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle 🧘‍♂️

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the Mayon Volcano in Legazpi, the Philippines ERUPT in January 2018.. I could see huge boulders being spat out of the centre like little stones. The house I stayed in almost got evacuated but we were just outside the zone, I also went to visit some evacuation centres with the locals.

3 weeks previous to this, a friend and myself were exploring the side of the volcano, not this time!

Our flight out of the area got canceled due to ash cloud and so we had to catch a 7 hour bus back to Manilla.. and then almost missed our flight out of the country!!! Eeeee

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have heaps to offer but I always have very happy and positive energy! High on LIFE!! 😊😊
