About Me

ABOUT ME

A laid back 26yr old with a love of the outdoors - snowboarding is my main passion (I can talk about it for days haha). craft beer, good chats, and meeting new people.

This is my first time in Europe, currently loving the sheer size and scope of this place; Europe has a huge amount of history to offer and I want to soak up as much as I can. One of my first experiences of European culture was spending a few days walking around Regensburg, Germany. A small town dating back to the Roman Empire.

Winter is what brought me to Europe; I am snow mad, I've been living In Wanaka NZ for the past few years, attempting to travel to other destinations when the summer months arrive.

My home, Wanaka, is a very small town with a constantly changing international population; over the past few years I have met all sorts of people from all over the world and hope to share many more similar experiences whilst I am in Europe.

I'm currently unemployed (read: fun-employed) after a very long season Chalet hosting In Morzine/Avoriaz. For the next few months I want to take what opportunities I can to stay with locals throughout my travels, I am generally up for all sorts of adventures (especially bad Karaoke after a few drinks haha).

Currently traveling through Europe with no real aims or destinations in mind, I'll go where I feel.

At the time of completing this profile I will be in Aljezur volunteering in a surf camp so If you live local I would love to meet ya and hear some of your stories or sights to see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To see Europe through a different lens, I would love to avoid Hostels filled with 18-20 yr olds if I can haha.

When I return to New Zealand I will offer my home with open arms to whomever I met and get along with.

I am very familiar with picking up hitchhikers in NZ and generally showing people my local area (Wanaka, NZ) when I have the time.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical tastes evolve and devolve all the time - I have a new found love for Australian surf/punk, check out Skeggs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoDiRV4oHms

I spend way too much time watching films; I honestly couldnt tell ya what my favourite is.

My favourite book changes all the time, but one book I always enjoy is 'In Cold Blood' by Truman Capote.
Right now I am reading 'Surfing the Himalayas' by Frederick Lenz and 'The Bourne Conspiracy' by Robert Ludlam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rented a big ass Ford truck and snowboarded and traveled throughout Tahoe and Northern California for six weeks in early 2016.

A trip I'll never forget. Camping on the plains near Mammoth Mountain, swimming in the natural hot springs under the stars while having a beer with my mate was certainly a highlight.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you can teach me some German I'll tell you everything I can about New Zealand - the greatest little country in the Pacific.

Also if you own your own snowboard then I will 100% teach you how to repair and maintain it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My own experiences and stories, a place to stay in New Zealand If you ever make it down there.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Portugal, Samoa, Singapore, United States
