Über mich
Hey everyone! I'm a software engineering and liberal arts student from the University of Sydney, Australia. I am currently on exchange at the University of Texas, Austin (USA), which has been an amazing experience so far! According to the personality tests, I'm a ENFP, which makes me quite outgoing, independent and compassionate.
In my spare time, I like to do artsy stuff (draw, graphic design, paint) or read non-fiction. Currently, I'm really interested in learning about prisons, specifically the power dynamics between the state and the incarcerated, and the socioeconomic costs of such pervasive incarceration.
P.S. I'm the one on the left in my picture!
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Although the idea of couch surfing seems very foreign and scary, especially for a youngish person like myself, I think it would be an awesome way to really experience a city, meet locals and enrich my travelling experiences. I haven't couch surfed before, but the community seems extremely friendly and welcoming so I'm sure once I try it out, it would be super enjoyable!! I'm looking to break out of my comfort zone, expand my horizons and challenge myself.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music - I listen to a lot of indie/alternative and EDM. My favourite artists include Flume, Snakehips, The Weeknd, Zayn, Local Natives, Coasts and The Trouble With Templeton.
Movies - I'm not very big on movies, I find that I lack the patience to sit through one without fidgeting too much. But some of my favourites include Gattaca, American Beauty, Boyhood and The Martian. I like watching a lot of Vice documentaries as well, especially the really weird ones.
Books - Currently, my favourite author is Murakami (Norwegian Wood and Colourless are some of my favourite books ever). I tend to read a lot of non-fiction and am currently reading Guantanamo Diary by Mohammed Ould Slahi.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Going on exchange to America! Also, volunteering in Cambodia for a month was also pretty amazing!
Lehren, lernen, teilen
If you're interested, I can teach you how to use Photoshop to make graphics. I can also attempt to teach some of the languages I have learnt (Cantonese, Mandarin, and the tiniest sliver of French). I'm also very passionate about modern society and culture, and sharing some of my experiences is something I wouldn't mind doing!
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
