About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to come up with a wittier mission

ABOUT ME

Jordan likes art. Garrett likes history. Actually, Jordan likes history too. We are really confused and don't know what to say here. We like eating food and talking about food--we think food is a good way to discover culture. We like music. We like to travel but usually lack the money to do so (we are students, after all). We hate pretension, but probably sound pretentious. Luckily, we can laugh at ourselves (which we are doing, right now).

Animals are great. Killing people is not great. Talking about things is fun! No topic is off-limits. For example, we once spent hours discussing which state would win if the US broke out into a state-on-state brawl. We decided it would be either Arkansas, Oregon, or California (no, we are not biased, Arkansas is just badass--okay maybe we are a little biased).

We will buy you a beer if you host us. Maybe even two :)

PHILOSOPHY

G: I live because I prefer it to the alternative.
J: I like pie. Other people like pie. I like sharing pie. I want to live happily and responsibly, bettering myself through learning, traveling, and making friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, we'll offer you a couch. But it's in Arkansas, which is a fantastic, but low populated state. Traveling the world is something many people feel the need to do, us included. Though we can't offer a couch in the most exotic place in the world, we are more than happy to do so (AR is actually a really awesome place) and hope others will do the same for us.

Even if we can't surf in other places, it's a program we definitely like to support and spread word about. Traveling shouldn't be all about money--it should be about sharing an experience and learning new things. We don't know of a better way to do that than to stay with a real local instead of at a shitty hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Garrett got 15 ft. from a wild cassowary in Australia (a giant blue-headed bird that looks like a velociraptor and could have killed him...he didn't know that last part at the time). He also streaked on a beach in Tasmania.

Jordan has been to North Korea and stared into the eyes of a North Korean military official. He's had a cocktail in the world's highest bar, in Shanghai. He also won a dragon boat race in Shanghai.

We met a crazy Phish fan at Bonnaroo who claimed to be a doctor and said Phish would "skull-f*ck" us if we went to see them. We didn't.
