ABOUT ME
I am currently in West Hempstead, New York.
Feel free to add me on facebook.com under "Garrett Bates"
Ambitious and aspiring--some day I would like the pleasure to say that I have stepped foot on every continent and speak 5 languages other than English fluently.
I am open to suggestions on where I should go during my breaks, so send me a message and we can plan to meet-up and have coffee!
PHILOSOPHY
I know that family is anyone who makes you feel loved an appreciated.
Life's too short to wonder "what if?". I am going to follow my dreams and live a rich live.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got lost driving in Seattle with my best friend for 3 hours--easily one of the most fun things I have done when I moved back to Washington for a year.
Visited Japan December 2010 and had a blast mingling with the locals and trying all of the delicious food!
My tour through Italy, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland and France was an amazing experience. I can't get over how delicious all of the food was.
I was at a large protest in Rome October 2011 and in Athens the day before the major protest there, it was crazy. I would be happy to share pictures.
Worked with a migrant worker in DC so I could pay off my hostel bill. Quite a perspective gaining experience.
I studied abroad in Japan for a semester!
I enjoyed the company of all the people I met on my travels and now wish I could have stayed longer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook some wonderful Italian, Spanish, Mexican, and Japanese dishes. I am attempting to learn Dominican cooking.
I have tons of traveling pictures and a couple stories to tell for anyone who is interested.
I have my undergraduate degree in economics. I would be happy to teach you a little about it if you would like :P
